The successful candidate should possess deep technical expertise in database design, ETL, reporting and analytics and will have previously architected and implemented large data warehouse systems. The Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect will be responsible for architectural roadmaps and standards around information management that align with both business and IT objectives. They will be responsible for partnering with the different business units and the IT department to translate analytic requirements into high performing and scalable data warehouse solutions. The architect will create, maintain and translate conceptual and logical data models. In addition to a strong data warehouse architect background, the ideal candidate must possess experience in the successful implementation of an enterprise BI solution.Duties & Responsibilities Definition, ownership, and implementation of the CarMax Enterprise Data Architecture vision and ongoing strategy Define, establish and communicate data architecture guidelines, standards, and best practices Partner with IT and the business community to define a strategic and unified method of accessing data, as well as influence the adoption of this methodology within all areas of the user community Design and direct the information access, delivery, and presentation of the EDW data with Business Intelligence technologies Ownership of the data dictionary, data repository, and data governance/stewardship Define and work with the Security team to architect the data security requirements for the enterprise Define and direct the implementation of data organization hierarchies and structures (e.g., ODS, EDW, Data Marts) Define and direct the ETL process including data capture, data quality, and loadingPosition Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
